Principal Welcome Message

Amy Archuleta

Welcome to Woodlands! We are very excited to begin the 2017/2018 school year. Our staff has been working hard to prepare for the new year and cannot wait to get started.

I would like to introduce several new teachers. Please join me in welcoming Courtney Brown as a Kindergarten teacher. Charlotte Ford and Jennifer Brantley will be teaching first grade this year. Ashley Spiegel has joined the second grade team and Karla Danford will be a third grade teacher. We also have Jaime Hess on the fourth grade team and Melinda Spannuth in fifth grade. Our new music teacher is Rosanna Lampano. In the next couple of weeks, we will also be welcoming some new para educator staff to our building. We are proud to have these new additions in the Woodlands family.

This year we will continue to emphasize three important school rules: Be Responsible, Be Respectful, Be Safe. Our staff’s dedication to Positive Behavior Supports is stronger than ever. Thank you in advance for supporting this work with your children. Ask them about our Wildcat tickets and Wildcat pledge. As always, student safety and security is our top priority.

In 2016, our school received the School of Distinction award for being in the top 5% of schools in Washington State in the area of improving ELA and Math student achievement. We are proud of this honor and continue to work to provide the highest level of learning for all students.

At Woodlands we want to partner with our families in order to assure student success. We hope that you will share your child’s strengths and challenges with us so we can best meet their needs. We strive to offer you many opportunities to come to school and learn more about what your child is doing and how we can best work with you to help them be successful.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. Again, welcome to the 2017/2018 school year!
