We recently got statewide recognition for our reading and math achievements!
Woodlands was named a 2016 School of Distinction. The award is earned by only the top 5 percent of improving schools in the state. Reading and math scores have consistently improved over the past five years, and have improved at levels higher than most schools in the state.
Woodlands is one of three Central Kitsap schools, including PineCrest and Silver Ridge, to earn the award.
“The progress our students and staff have made at these school is something we can all be proud of,” said Superintendent David McVicker. “It shows that our work to improve reading achievement, engage students, and give the right help to students who need it the most is on the right track.”
The Schools of Distinction awards are given by Center for Educational Effectiveness in partnership with the Association of Educational Service Districts, the Association of Washington School Principals, Washington Association of School Administrators, Washington State School Directors’ Association, and Washington State Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.
