For a third year in a row, Woodlands Elementary has won a School of Distinction award!

Hard work and progress earned the statewide recognition from the Center for Educational Effectiveness.

“I’m so proud of the dedication of our staff and students,” said Superintendent David McVicker. “This recognition shows our efforts to improve student engagement are steps in the right direction."

The statewide award recognizes five years of sustained growth in both English language arts and mathematics. The Center for Educational Effectiveness, in partnership with state school directors, principals and superintendent organizations, presents the award annually to Washington schools that show the most improvement.

"I am very proud of the system of support we have created for our students at Woodlands," says Principal Amy Archuleta. "I would like to thank the staff for their commitment to all students and also our families for their support. We are beyond excited to receive this prestigious award!"
