Hello Wildcat Families!
My goodness that groundhog wasn't wrong - stay warm everyone!!

Lots of fun and learning to look forward to this week - Family Math Night is once again linked to PTA BINGO night this coming Thursday. Come enjoy the fun with Ready, Set, Math - A Family Road Trip of math around the school and then stay for pizza and BINGO with PTA. The math and fun start at 5pm - we hope to see everyone there!!

Our APEX coaches have been helping our students learn to Level Up their leadership skills and focus on being the best version of themselves. Dance parties, prize wheels and classroom challenges have all been part of the fun. The learning and FUNdraising continue through next week capped off by our fun Glow Run event on Friday the 27th.

Our yearly Climate Survey is open through the end of next week. We want to hear from you - your input helps us live our motto #bettertogether so thank you for taking a few minutes to give us your feedback. The link to the survey is here, and below in this newsletter:  Link to Family Climate Survey

Counselor's Corner

I warmly encourage our PK–5 families to join us for Ready, Set, Math: Family Road Trip this Thursday, February 26th from 5-6 p.m. for a fun, interactive evening where you’ll work together to solve real-world math challenges like planning routes, budgeting, and managing time.
This special event is about more than math, it’s about teamwork, confidence, and quality family time. Plus, each family will take home a math-themed game to keep the learning going!
I hope to see you there for an evening of connection, problem-solving, and fun!  Questions? Contact our school counselor at: Katef@ckschools.org 360-662-9700, X 9716

Please take a few minutes to share your thoughts!

Attendance Counts

We are definitely in the middle of cold and flu season - and our attendance is reflecting that. We hit our school year low last week at 87% - stay healthy everyone!!

When to Keep Your Student Home?
Remember to please call the office if your child is going to need to stay home for any reason, so that our attendance records are accurate. As a reminder, here are the guidelines on when to keep your student home:

Attendance is such an important factor in a child’s education Journey. If you need any support in improving your child’s attendance, please reach out to your teacher or myself, the student support specialist, Jon Campbell, (360) 662-9717.

PTA News

Mark your calendars! Our F.A.C.E. project for March will be the book – “The Anxious Generation.” Read the book and we will come together on March 24th for a book discussion. If you did not fill out the survey for participation that is OK. You can still take the survey and participate. The survey helps us know how many to expect when we come together for book discussion.

APEX – we have had so much fun so far and are very grateful for our community coming together for all of our students!! This is our main fundraiser for the year where funds go toward Woodlands Elementary School as a general fund. These funds help pay for field trips, school supplies for ALL students, classroom snacks, F.A.C.E. projects, free family events at held at school (Santa Breakfast, family dance, etc.), staff appreciation week plus extras that come up on a case by case basis. The goal is to support students, staff and families with the extras that our school budget does not cover with focus on sense of belonging and community.

The support from every single Woodlands Family really means a lot – no matter how big or small – it all counts!

Box Tops For Education – this is an ongoing fundraiser using your receipts from your shopping trips. Not just food items! Things like pet food, Paper Mate office supplies, granola bars, ice cream, baking products and cereal. There are hundreds of items that all qualify for school donation. Just need to download the Box Tops app, select Woodlands Elementary and scan your receipts. Those ten cent donations really add up! We use all of the money earned towards school supplies for ALL Woodlands students.

Don't forget to stop by and thank Kin Coffee Collective for donating a free coffee to each staff member at Woodlands!

Please reach out to PTA if you have ideas, feedback, concerns, etc. anytime by email infowoodlandspta@gmail.com
